A little about the band

Next In Line : Bud,Casey, Tyler, Stéphane. After much debate, a few band names, and more than one roster, here we are. The band's lineage traces back to around 1999 when funny enough, Tyler, Stéph and Casey decided to follow Straight Goods' lead and start a band. What can we say? It looked like alot of fun. The three dubbed "Cold Fire" (we were new at the band naming thing) never really played any gigs, but we did manage to annoy Rodger and Brenda Coulombe a whole lot practicing and pick up second place at the Lucky 7 talent search. We decided to pack it in shortly there after. Casey was in transit between Ottawa and Eganville and we just didnt have the material to pull it off. Stéph.....was the drummer.

Not too long after that, the second incarnation was formed, again with Stéph drumming, Tyler on bass and a friend of Stéphane's on guitar. We switched a few guitar players to no avail and I reccommended to Stéph that he play guitar and we'd find a drummer. We did, and his name was Benjamin Gravelle. We tried that for a while, and again after falling short on the material side, we packed it in. We did however, manage to play a couple of jams in Quebec before it ended. Progress.

Stéph and I continued to play together sporatically until Adam called me on the advice of my aunt Chris McCann. He told her he wanted to start a band, and she reccommended me. We got together, and as per status quo I brought Stéph in. The band was shortly after named Next In Line. We wanted something to sort of pay tribute to our exemplars, and role models. We only needed a lead singer now. So we practiced and tried a few out then we found Pete.

Pete Desmond was our lead singer for the first actual gigs we played as a band. More progress. We did fairly well, people seemed to like us and we enjoyed ourselves. Then Pete moved. We practiced a couple more times. After acting as Chris' backup band for a few gigs we ran into a snag. Chris couldnt play one of the gigs we had booked. We called uncle Bud and he agreed to front for us. Again, we played a few gigs back and forth with a rotating group. We took Bud in as our lead singer. Again, played gigs, having tons of fun all the while. Problem is Bud is the drummer for Unwound. When we couldnt use Bud or Chris as a front person for a gig, we brought in Casey. He's available....all the time, and great at what he does. It still amazes me that 3 of the 4 members of next in line today, were the same three kids that entered that talent competition eight long years ago. Even more entertaining is the fact that the drummer from 3 paragraphs back is now the full time Next In Line drummer.

The rest as they say, is history....yet to be written.
